About me
About me
As a primary-school child I became a victim of the trend of stamping a label on every supposed problem. I was given diagnoses like ADHD, dyscalculia and dyslexia. I am lucky to have a mum who always saw more in me and ignored those boxes. The strength my mother gave me developed the grit I needed to finish my Realschulabschluss with a grade average of 1.6. Abitur and university followed.
I always wanted more from life, dreamed big – and achieved everything I set my mind to: a dog of my own, my own business, a supportive husband.
Two hearts have always beaten inside me: one for children – which is why tutoring and babysitting were part of my everyday life since my youth.
And one for animals – for as long as I can remember, I wished for nothing more than a dog of my own.
In my early twenties my dog Emma moved in with me – and here too my life turned 180°. I learned to take responsibility and to love. Time passed, and the seeds I had sown through my talents grew.
Two paths followed: on the one hand the path as a dog trainer – leading to self-employment and a unique concept for dog care. On the other hand my teaching degree with the subject combination of sports and philosophy. A perfect combination for strengthening children – so that they get the same chances I had back then, to break out again and again of the boxes they were mistakenly put into.
I got the opportunity to apply what I had learned directly as the class teacher of a primary-school class. But that was not enough for me. Bound to curricula, the school day often doesn't allow the development that is so important for a child. So I closed the chapter of becoming a teacher.
Because I recognised: to lead a group of dogs confidently, you need resilience. To keep a cool head in the turbulent school day, you need resilience. And to emerge strengthened from my own primary-school years, I needed resilience. I gained this insight in hindsight.
That is what I want to give children: the courage to take life as it comes – and always make the best of it.
That is why, instead of the master's degree, I started the IMOTIK® trainer programme on 01.09.2024. Because this is my vision: to strengthen children from the inside out.
